Districts

 

There are many boroughs and districts of Liverpool to explore, all of which are a stones-throw away from Days Inn Liverpool City Centre. Pack a bag, put on your comfortable walking shoes and discover what Liverpool has to offer.

 

Aintree

 

Aintree is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside. It lies between Walton and Maghull about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north of Liverpool city centre. It is best known as the site of Aintree Racecourse, which is most famous for the Grand National. 

 

Anfield

 

Anfield is a residential district of Liverpool bordered by a number of areas including Walton, Clubmoor, Tuebrook and Everton. The area is famed for its main attraction, the Anfield Stadium, home of the Liverpool F.C. The area also contains Stanley Park, one of Liverpool's grand Victorian parks.

 

Everton

 

Everton is an inner city area in Merseyside located just north of Liverpool city centre, surrounded by Vauxhall at the west, Kirkdale at the north and Anfield at the north east. 

 

Everton is very well known for its connection to the Everton Football Club. The football club is named after the district however the club has never actually played in the area. Their first home was located in Anfield and since 1892 they now play at Goodison Park in the area of Walton.

 

Liverpool City Centre

 

Liverpool city centre is rich in culture and history and features tourist attractions such as Tate Liverpool, Albert Dock, the Beatles Story, the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and St John’s gardens. The city centre also features a great range of restaurants, bars and cafes.

 

Wirral

 

Wirral peninsula, about 10 miles (16.1 km) long and 7 miles (11.3 km) wide, is bounded by the River Dee. Well connected to the rest of the country, Wirral is the ideal location for those wanting to get away from the city with its green landscape, picturesque villages, sandy beaches and wonderful coastlines. The peninsula is home to plenty of visitor attractions including the Mersey Ferries, the newly refurbished Floral Pavilion, Birkenhead Park and Hadlow Road railway station.
