Alphonse Mucha: In Quest of Beauty – 16th June – 29th October 2017

Join Walker Art Gallery to celebrate the art of Czech-born Alphonse Mucha, one of the most recognised artists of the Art Nouveau movement. The major touring exhibition, from the Mucha Foundation, explores the artist’s work around the theme of beauty. Showing around 100 works, the exhibition will include drawings, paintings, photographs, and some of the artist’s celebrated poster designs.

Pirates on the Dock – 16th September – 17th September 2017

Visit Liverpool this September for some shenanigans featuring live cannons, pirates, mermaids, thrilling battles and action on the water. Returning to Albert Dock, this year’s Pirates on the Dock is set to be full of even more action and entertainment than ever before! Don’t miss the all-new Strong Lady, making her debut appearance or comedian and TV star, Steve Royle, perform his interactive children’s show. Why not make the most of the fun and dress up as a pirate or mermaid to join in with the parade too!

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival – 16th September – 17th September 2017

Liverpool’s Food and Drink Festival is returning to Sefton Park for its 10th anniversary, championing the city’s fantastic food and drink scene. There’s plenty for everyone to enjoy and savour with a wide variety of sweet and savoury stalls on offer. And not to worry, those who love a good drink will also be taken well care of! This year, the festival is being split into ‘zones’ for visitors to easily navigate their way through the culinary world. Try pairings of seafood and fizz followed by artisan pizzas paired with craft beers, and let’s not forget about the street food, chocolate, and spirits! There will also be a special done for kids, where junior foodies will be able to take part in a range of activities to keep them entertained.

Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia – 22nd September – 23rd September 2017

The Liverpool Psych Festival is returning to Camp and Furnace, Blade Factory and District, in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle this year. The Black Angels will be headlining the festival, who, through their musical output over the past 12 years, have reignited the psychedelic flame in a new generation. The festival will also feature appearances by Songhoy Blues, Loop, Pzyk, and White Manna.

British Musical Fireworks Championship – 29th September – 1st October 2017

Don’t miss the only competition of its kind in the UK, as it returns to Liverpool for a spectacular show. See some of the best pyrotechnic companies battle it out to be the winner and the ‘Champion of Champions’. Industry experts will judge the shows based on their synchronisation to music, mood and flow, variety and effects, choice of music, overall design and choreography. The innovative use of fireworks and music makes each display unique and not to be missed!
